Our Coaching Philosophy
Drawing on Tatsumi’s 40+ years coaching, the Infinite Future Tennis team has developed a unique teaching process that will develop players of all levels to bring out the best in their abilities, step-by-step.
We believe all players have the ability to improve infinitely with the right practice and dedication.
Performance is about continuing to develop fundamentals at every stage, focusing on technical details, and pushing players beyond what they believe to be their physical and mental limits.
All of our instructors understand and respect the differences of each player in order to develop their specific strengths, technical needs, individual personality.
Tatsumi has been coaching tennis for 40+ years and has built a reputation not only in Bergen Country, but in the greater New Jersey / New York region.
Named the Eastern Section’s Coach of the Year in 2009 with the George Seewagen Award, notable players he has coached include Christina McHale (highest WTA ranking of #24) and Kristie Ahn (highest WTA ranking of #87). Countless others have reached collegiate tennis level, and have been top players in the section and nation.
He is known for focusing on teaching kids work ethic and love for the game, and believes that improvement comes from consistent, diligent thought and work.
Tatsumi was born and raised in Osaka, Japan, and has a BA in Business from Doshisha University

Sahaja has a career high WTA ranking of #284 and is currently the highest ranked Indian tennis player on the WTA tour.
Hailing from Hyberabad, Sahaja has quickly risen in the ranks on the WTA tour after a stellar collegiate career. She has 4 ITF titles under her belt and is looking for more.
You may see her training at ITF when she’s not at tournaments, hitting with Coach Akiko who has also toured with her in 2024. Her story and work ethic is an inspiration for the IFT team and players.
We have the opportunity to organize for our High Performance players to meet and play with Sahaja and other pros. In 2023, Sahaja and Sayaka Ishii (WTA career high #203, ITF Juniors career high #5) came to play and speak with some of the players in the IFT program.
Our Alumni
We are both proud and humbled by all of our distinguished alumni players – regardless of the level of accomplishments on the court, what they have all achieved is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
